The young man received the gift, opened the package and saw that there were pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.
"Que lindas cores!"
"Adorei o tipo de pintura."
"Kiel belaj koloroj!"
"Mi ŝategis tian pentraĵon."
"What beautiful colors!"
"I love this kind of painting."
E tentou adivinhar:
"É o mapa do Canadá!"
"Tem umas peças muito lindas. Esta parece um urso."
Kaj li provis diveni:
"Ĝi estas la mapo de Kanado!"
"Estas kelkaj tre belaj pecoj. Tiu ĉi aspektas kiel urso."
And he tried to guess:
"It's a map of Canada!"
"There are some very beautiful pieces. This one looks like a bear."
"Pode ser que no contexto geral esta peça não seja um urso... mas várias aqui parecem ser bichos, ou portais."
"En la ĝenerala kadro ĉi tiu peco eble ne estu urso... tamen diversaj el ili aspektas kiel bestoj, aŭ portaloj."
"In the general context, this piece might not be a bear... but several pieces here seem to represent animals or gateways."
E ele começou a montar:
"Acho que é algo relacionado ao Canadá, mas não consigo imaginar o que seja."
"Se o bilhete diz que a família vai na mala, talvez seja algo relacionado ao lugar onde moramos, aos nossos bichos, ao nascer ou por do sol de lá..."
Kaj li ekmuntis la puzlon:
"Mi opinias, ke ĝi rilatas al Kanado, sed mi ne antaŭvidas, kio ĝi estas."
"Se sur la letereto estas skribita, ke la familio vojaĝos en la valizo, eble temu pri la loko kie ni loĝas, pri niaj bestoj, pri tiea sunleviĝo aŭ sunsubiro..."
And he started putting the puzzle together:
“I think it is something related to Canada, but I cannot foresee what it is.”
"If the note says that the family goes in the suitcase, maybe it's something related to the place where we live, to the animals on our land, to the sunrise or the sunset there...”
Então, o rapaz encontrou uma peça onde estava o olho de um dos cães. Ele o reconheceu por ter esse cão um olho de cada cor: marrom à esquerda e azul claro, quase branco, à direita. A partir daí, ele tinha certeza que eram os cachorros da família.

Then the man found a piece showing the eye of one of the dogs. He recognized it because this particular dog has one eye of each color: brown to his left and light blue, almost white to his right. From there on, he was sure he was dealing with the dogs of the family.
Tudo passou a fazer sentido. Ficou na dúvida em alguns dos personagens, mas acabou reconhecendo toda a família.

Suddenly everything started to make sense. He was in doubt about some of the characters but eventually recognized the whole family.

"Beautiful! Beautiful! This kind of abstract thing, the colors, the pieces, I consider it all very beautiful! I'm going to have it framed."
